Tell me a little about your background?
Grew up in ME, Marine Corps Vet, ASU Grad, Ran my own small real estate sales team
Why were you interested in Medical Sales? What drew you to this industry?
I wasn’t able to get my foot in the door. I was looking for more fulfillment personally on what it is I am selling and it’s impact.
How long did you try to get into the industry? What was that experience like?
3 months, not even getting initial phone screens
How did you learn about Medical Sales College?
Started browsing around for medical device programs
Did you have any fears about attending the School? What were they?
Yes, stepping away from my business meant losing future sales later in the year. Also, the upfront investment.
What ultimately made you decide to attend the College?
Needed to do something dramatic if I was going to get into the industry.
Describe your experience once you began training with Medical Sales College.
Get all your affairs in order prior, no medical background so a learning curve for sure, but if you’re serious about breaking into the industry it will feel rewarding and stimulating.
Explain what your interview process was like.
Phone interview, second phone interview, exam, interview, panel interview
What from your training did you specifically use during the interview process that ultimately helped you land your position?
The ability to take clinical trials and products dissect information, and fully understand what you are selling and its value
What was the most valuable thing you learned at Medical Sales College/What piece of training do you use the most in your day-to-day activities?
Just the general knowledge base that allows you. To have a fluid conversation on a spectrum of products. Much to learn still but solid ground to start on.
Why should someone attend the Medical Sales College if they want this career?
Even with some killer sales numbers I kept getting passed over. If you have a sales record do this. I had to decline 4 other interviews I was in due to a job offer coming through.
What do you know now that you wish you had known before entering the industry/attending Medical Sales College?
Honestly nothing. The college has a couple kinks but overall delivered some grade A education AND hands on learning which is a lost art in traditional higher education. It prepared me for my interviews well and ultimately landed a career through everything I absorbed at the course.
