Tell me a little about your background?

I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in 2017. I spent one year of graduate studies in School Counseling, and although it was a great experience, I missed the medical field. I have a rich history in athletics, competing, and also training others as a strength and conditioning coach.

Why were you interested in Medical Sales? What drew you to this industry?

I am interested in medical sales because I thrive in building relationships with others and I am fascinated by the human body. I think that medical sales blends the world of sales and medicine in a perfect way that fits my interest and personality.

How did you learn about Medical Sales College?

I learned about medical sales college through a google search of medical sales opportunities.

What ultimately made you decide to attend the College?

I decided to attend MSC because of my conversations with current medical device representatives in the field. They informed me of the difficulties of breaking into the industry with no sales experience.

Describe your experience once you began training with Medical Sales College.

I learned a lot of valuable tools to make me a successful medical device representative. I feel well versed in human anatomy, physiology, and bio mechanics. I learned the dynamic consultative approach to selling and how to close sales as well as give valuable product presentations. I think the course structure was appropriate and I liked how we were given multiple opportunities to learn; presentations, lecture, discussion, hands on labs, and field trips.

What was the most valuable thing you learned at Medical Sales College/What piece of training do you use the most in your day-to-day activities?

The most valuable piece of information that I learned from MSC which ultimately helped me land my position is how to construct product presentations and a business plan.

Please briefly explain your job interview process.

My job interview process consisted of a phone interview, interview with sales representative and head of the distributorship, and lastly an interview with the vice president of sales.

Why should someone attend the Medical Sales College if they want this career?

Medical Sales College provides its students with an excellent foundation of knowledge of the medical device industry. Also, MSC thoroughly prepares students for the interview process and ultimately landing a job.

What do you know now that you wish you had known before entering the industry/attending Medical Sales College?

I now know the importance of knowing your competitors products as well as profiling surgeons and territories.
