A healthcare professional seeking a career path change.
Why were you interested in pursuing medical sales as a career?
I saw it as a lucrative career where I could also use my intelligence to bring improved surgical outcomes for my patients and my surgeons.
How did you learn about Medical Sales College?
Google
What ultimately made you decide to attend?
I saw MSC as a way to step past the 'sales experience needed' posted on almost all med device sales positions.
Please describe your training experience at Medical Sales College.
A great place to learn the ropes of the anatomy of the body while also developing your ability to breakdown products and find where they bring value. Great hands on experiences while also developing interpersonal skillsets that might be lacking (public speaking, working in teams, etc.)
Describe your experience with Dynamic Consultative Sales training.
During this time we got a rough idea of what a long product, short product, and short relationship call is like. This week was basically just a wrapped up version of what we had been learning slowly from the 10 weeks prior with a little more elaboration in certain aspects.
How did the training at MSC add to your existing clinical knowledge?
My clinical knowledge was pretty sound before coming to the program but it definitely further developed my knowledge base on how orthopedic/trauma implants are used and why they are used.
What is the most valuable piece of information that you learned while attending MSC which ultimately helped you land your position?
I would say what ultimately landed me the position was the fact that I took the time and resources to invest in myself and attend MSC.
How did placement services help accelerate your entry into the medical device sales industry?
They were constantly giving me advice and leads to new jobs but the opportunity I ended up taking was one that I began on my own. I had offers from other companies that heard about me from the MSC team, so for that I am extremely grateful.
Why should someone attend Medical Sales College?
Develop your clinical knowledge. Obtain a better grasp of what being a Medical Sales Rep actually is. Boost your resume and begin building from an incredible network.
How long did you try to get into the industry before attending MSC? What was that experience like?
I didn't spend a lot of time. But the few applications I filled out either had no response or a firm 'No'.
Please briefly explain your job interview process with your hiring company.
A lot of waiting and following up. Trying not to be too pushy but also making sure they knew you were really interested. I had 4 official interviews over an almost 3 month span so it was rather nerve wracking but hard work and persistence pays off.
